Bring a friend to parkrun for World Cancer Day

On Saturday, February 8, the Irish Cancer Prevention Network (HSE National Cancer Control Programme, Breakthrough Cancer Research, The Marie Keating Foundation, The Irish Cancer Society) is teaming up with parkrun to mark World Cancer Day and to highlight the positive impact of physical activity on reducing cancer risk and living well with, and beyond, cancer. There is strong evidence that exercise may lower the risk of seven types of common cancer – breast, endometrial, kidney, bladder, oesophageal, stomach and colon. Physical activity, particularly after a cancer diagnosis, may improve survival in breast and colon cancer. Parkrun organise free weekly runs around the country and are open to everyone – please bring a friend to your local parkrun on Saturday, February 8. You can find your local parkrun at www.parkrun.ie
