Avatar photo

Overall verdict 8/10

€399
Summary

The Garmin Forerunner 255 Music is an excellent update to a fan favourite. It adds a few sensors that the Forerunner 245 sorely lacked, and new Garmin Pay support lets you ditch your wallet. With two sizes to choose from and optional music integration, this is the most flexible Garmin running watch yet and easily establishes its place among running royalty.

Pros
  • Lightweight and comfortable for 24/7 wear
  • Competitive price for the features
  • Running power with compatible accessory
  • Powerful Garmin ecosystem and capability
Cons
  • No phone call or voice assistant support

The Garmin Forerunner 255 Music is very comfortable for wearing to sleep and throughout the day, while its battery life means you can go a week or more while using it for a few workouts and daily wear during the week. The display is very visible in all lighting conditions. The GPS is accurate, music played well via Spotify to wireless headphones.

Although the Garmin Forerunner 255 is an excellent all round fitness watch at €399, the mid-level wearable market is more competitive than ever. Top competitors like Coros, and Polar all offer worthy rivals at around the same price tag.

That said, the main problem with the Forerunner 255 is that you might not want to take if off…..ever.
