Kate O’Connor has etched her name into Irish sporting history with a stunning gold medal triumph in the women’s heptathlon at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
The 25-year-old produced a composed and courageous performance across seven demanding events, sealing victory with a superb 800m finish in 2:11.74.
