Inspiration

Minister Leads By Example

Avatar photo

Thomas Byrne TD, Minister of State at the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media, led by example – taking part in The Daily Mile when he visited primary schools Kilmainhamwood NS and St Colmcille’s S.N.S in Kells, Co Meath a few days before the Christmas holidays. Olympian Shane Healy also ran and delivered an inspirational talk for the children in both schools.

The Daily Mile promotion moves to Donegal on March 7th when nine primary schools will gather at the Finn Valley AC track in Stranolar for a special celebration morning organised by Finn Valley Athletic Club.

There are now 1,296 primary schools across Ireland who are making The Daily Mile part of their school day- another Good News Story for Athletics Ireland.
