A sensational performance from Sophie O’Sullivan (University of Washington/Ballymore Cobh AC) overnight to win the Women’s 1500m at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Oregon.

O’Sullivan clocked a time of 4:07.94, unleashing an impressive kick 200m from the line to run away from the rest of the field.

She becomes just the fifth Irishwoman to win a NCAA Division 1 outdoor title joining her mother Sonia who twice achieved the feat.
