SHARLENE EDGES CLOSER TO SUB-50 WITH PARIS STATEMENT RUN

Sharlene Mawdsley delivered another standout performance on the global stage, recording her fourth personal best of the season at her Diamond League debut in Paris.

The 27-year-old powered to fifth place in a high-quality 400m field, clocking an impressive 50.06 — continuing her remarkable upward trajectory.

At the front, Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic dominated proceedings, setting a new Diamond League record of 48.48 with a commanding display.

Sharlene’s latest run comes just one week after her previous PB of 50.14 at the FBK Games in the Netherlands, underlining her consistency and momentum as she closes in on the elusive sub-50 barrier.

Momentum building. History within reach.

Onwards and upwards for the Newport AC athlete and wonderful Irish sporting role model.
